TIAA Corporate Strategy and Development Associate in New York

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Corporate Strategy & Development (CS&D) group supports the long-term strategic goals of TIAA. This role is part of the CS&D Strategic Consulting team, which is an internal consulting team responsible for driving firm strategy and execution. The team partners with internal clients to define and refresh their business strategies by identifying new growth opportunities for TIAA and conducting meaningful analysis to test established points of view. The team is also responsible for informing options for business execution, and supporting execution efforts as needed. CS&D seeks an experienced and well-accomplished candidate to join its Strategic Consulting team as an Associate. This position will begin in July 2021.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

The primary role of an Associate is to lead research and problem-solving activities on a portion of an internal client engagement or study. Associates support engagements by conducting interviews, forming sophisticated hypotheses, designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and synthesizing conclusions and insights into recommendations. Associates work collaboratively with colleagues and internal clients, and are also involved with presentations to internal clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • (3) or more years ofpost-undergraduate degree work experience, including at least (2) years with astrategy consulting firm or an internal corporate strategy group at a financialservices firm

  • MBA or other post-undergraduatedegree preferably in a preferably in a field of studyrelated to business or quantitative analysis

  • Theoretical understanding and practical experience with strategicand analytical frameworks, market analysis, economic analysis, go-to-marketstrategies, operational analysis, business case development, and implementationplanning

  • Theoretical understanding and/or practical experience with keybusiness / financial concepts, such as financial statement analysis, managerialaccounting, corporate finance, and project finance

  • Experience with developing and communicating both executive andmore informal presentations

  • Unquestioned integrity and thehighest ethical standards

  • Appreciation and passion for themission

  • A team orientation and collegialstyle

  • Ability to lead as well as work withothers

  • A commitment to a culture ofexcellence and client service

  • A sense of urgency, resultsorientation and thoughtful execution skills

  • Outstanding communication skills anda diplomatic interpersonal manner

Desired:

  • Knowledgeof asset management, insurance, and/or other areas of financial services

  • Finance-relatedcertifications such as CFA or CIMA
