Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) partners with other business and support areas to protect TIAA financial strength and reputation, helps continue to deliver our long-term promises, and helps meet the strategic objectives of the organization. ERM is aligned to meet both the line of business needs and enterprise needs. The Summer Associate will be part of the Financial Risk team, which is responsible for setting standards and overseeing both on- and off-balance sheet financial risks - which spans investment risk, liability risk and balance sheet liquidity risk. In coordination with business partners, this team develops macro-economic scenarios and builds various tools and methods to strengthen and drive a strategic enterprise-wide stress testing and scenario analysis program. They also provide input on investment assumptions that influence successful product pricing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The successful candidate will be helping Risk Solutions in implementing Credit and Market Risk solutions for TIAA General Account and other line of businesses. The responsibilities include, but not limited to, interacting with various subject matter experts on both functional and technical areas and building technical solutions to help facilitate various business needs such as data analysis and risk report creation.

Must be obtaining Bachelor’s degree with a graduation date of December 2019 to May 2020
Degree major must be in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
Must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or better
Experience in programming languages (Java or Python preferred)
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Self-starter, high energy and detail oriented; ability to work with minimal supervision
Interest in computing and data management
Interest in finance and/or risk management
Ability to work closely with developers and analysts to gather information and put together a data management plan
Desire to continuously learn
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and deliver commit
