TIAA Accounting Finance Manager II in JACKSONVILLE, Florida
As a part of TIAA’s Financial Solutions business, TIAA Bank, a division of TIAA, FSB, provides full-service, nationwide banking and lending services to consumer, commercial and institutional clients through a variety of channels, including online, its Florida-based financial centers and at other business offices throughout the country.
The position is responsible for management of the accounting and forecast/planning cycles, audits and for the integrity and accuracy of financial books and records for portfolio assets, loan portfolio. This position is also responsible for preparing complex analysis for Senior Leadership and Executive Management.
Primarily responsible for accounting processes associated with FASB standards, ASC 860: Transfers and Servicing of Financial Assets, ASC 310-30: Loans and Debt Securities Acquired with Deteriorated Credit Quality, ASC 310-20: Nonrefundable Fees and Other Costs, ASC 450: - Allowance for loan and lease losses
Manages the preparation of all monthly, quarterlyand annual financial reporting.
Responsible for compliance with all regulatoryrequirements
Advocates use of technology and systems to enableefficiency.
Responsible for proper documentation of controlsand processes within assigned area
Leads key corporate initiatives includingacquisitions, new products, service and business model changes.
Communicates analysis to business unit contactsin order to maximize savings and minimize risk exposure.
Coordinates resolution of issues related toassigned area
Manages a team including recruiting, training,motivating, directing and evaluating
Develops policies, procedures, processes, andcontrols within assigned area
Ensures all needed assistance is provided forinternal, external and regulatory auditors in completing audit reviews
Complete ad hoc reporting as requested
Acts as a project manager for assigned projects
5+ years of PublicAccounting Experience
5+ years ofAccounting/Finance experience
3+ years of managerialexperience
Bachelor degree inAccounting or Finance
Prior banking and/or mortgageexperience
Familiar with GAAP andinternal controls
Familiar withregulations governing accounting in a financial institution
Excellent spreadsheetand analytical skills
Proficient withMicrosoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Excellent ability toeffectively handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced, growth environment
Excellent organizationalskills, ability to prioritize work requirements and allocate resourcesaccordingly
Excellent written andverbal communication skills
