TIAA Client Intelligence Unit AML Analyst II in Denver, Colorado

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

AML Analyst participates in investigations regarding the control, detection and analysis of frauds to eliminate any eventual possibility of financial or image loss to the company. Under general supervision, this job participates in identifying potential fraud cases and taking appropriate action.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participates in investigations of alleged violations of the corporation’s ethical standards and non-compliance with applicable laws, regulations and corporate policy issues.

  • Conducts routine audits of corporate departments to ensure compliance and manages the process of correcting noncompliance and compliance gaps.

  • Uses data analysis and software to identify potential cases of fraud such as embezzlement, counterfeiting, cloning, tumbling, piggy-backing, etc.

  • Monitors existing and potential fraudulent situations to protect the company’s financial and operational situation.

  • Provides fraud documentation for prosecution to law enforcement agencies.

  • Researches account activity in order to assess levels of risk.

Position Summary:

TIAA is seeking to hire an AML Analyst II within the Client Intelligence Unit (CIU). The CIU serves as the first line of defense against Fraud and AML for the enterprise. This position is primarily responsible for AML (Know Your Customer) KYC alerts associated with Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes. This individual would be required to work closely with other CIU analysts and lines of businesses to ensure processes comply with the institution’s policies, meet regulatory standards of compliance, and are commensurate with industry standards and/or best practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Perform detailed Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Reviews

  • Conduct research utilizing available industry standard tools, systems, open source resources such as the internet; consistent with the resolution of alerts

  • Assess client profile data and activity against alerts to determine and ensure normal and expected activity

  • Document findings in a narrative style format in the case management system (managed through both manual and automated processes) and prepare reports to management as required

  • Escalate relationship retention or termination decisions and tracking account closures where applicable

  • Recognition and promptly escalate unusual activity and critical or reputational risk matters to the CIU Manager(s)

  • Maintain accurate records per TIAA recordkeeping requirements

  • Support special projects and initiatives; as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of relevant financial crimes experience within the financial services industry (e.g. fraud, AML, or operational risk)

  • Working knowledge of AML Regulatory guidance and Industry practices

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret date and assess reasonability

  • Possess analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and execute solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree

  • Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)

  • Knowledge of various AML typologies and regulatory requirements

  • Familiar with the NICE/Actimize alerting platform

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills

Minimum Pay: $47,400.00
