The Corporate Business Continuity Team (CBCT) provides governance and oversight for the effective planning, testing and execution of business continuity and crisis management programs. Under the direction of the CBCT Leader, we are looking for a Director with strong expertise in business continuity and recovery to join the CBC Team and lead the standard setting, oversight and governance of the Business Continuity plans and testing of internal and external business operations. Manages team responsible for providing coaching and oversight to all employees performing business continuity activities. This person will ensure the team meets or exceeds all Corporate Business Continuity program deliverables and deadlines. Some travel to other sites will be required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Actively champion, contribute to and pursue the CBC short and long term strategy, goals, and agenda.
Ensure procedures are developed in line with financial services regulatory and industry regulations, requirements and guidelines and reflect “best practices” in use by other similar organizations with similar risk profiles.
Under limited supervision manages consulting team, and monitors continuity planning activities at the regional and multiple business area levels.
Track resiliency risk issues and related action plans. Partner with management and staff responsible for issue resolution to ensure the issues get resolved or escalated as necessary and appropriate.
Provide a well-conceived independent view of the resiliency risks and recovery capability across the Company and execute resiliency risk assessments to include enterprise program and line of business control strength and maturity levels.
Provide an effective challenge to the realism and effectiveness of Business Continuity plans and test exercises developed and executed by the first lines of defense.
Build and strengthen relationships with the key stakeholders in business and support areas to actively promote a culture that is sensitive to identifying, measuring, mitigating and monitoring resiliency issues and risks both in-house and with key suppliers.
Develop strong collaborative working relationships with business partners responsible for executing business continuity within all business areas and Control Group colleagues to leverage synergies and ensure that we are being efficient in in conducting assessments, collecting, assessing and mitigating resiliency risks.
Participates in after hours on-call “Manager on Duty” threat monitoring rotation and will facilitate one or more incident management teams during business disruption events.
Minimum of ten years direct experience in Business Continuity and Crisis Management
Minimum of ten years management experience of professionals
Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP Certification)
Business Continuity experience in a large retail financial services company with knowledge of high availability, resiliency and recovery approaches and techniques
Previous experience leading international virtual employees/contractors is strongly preferred.
Experience with business continuity platforms (i.e. Archer eGRC, Everbridge Notification, NC4), business impact analysis, risk assessment, plan development, testing, crisis management, and supplier continuity is desired.
Project Management experience.
Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP), Program or Project Management Certification PgMP or PMP)
