About the Position

As part of Nuveen’s global distribution efforts for Wealth and Institutional clients, we are focused on growing our alternatives product offerings with US Wealth clients. To support this effort, we are creating a team within our Global Client Services organization dedicated to the onboarding and ongoing servicing of wealth platforms, advisors and end-investors in these products and strategies.

In this highly cross-functional role, you will partner closely with teams in product, distribution, operations, technology, shareholder services and others (including 3 rd Party Transfer Agents and Fund Administrators) to build the client servicing capabilities required to deliver an outstanding client experience to intermediaries, advisors and end-investors in our alternatives products. This team also oversees and administers onboarding and support for Nuveen’s Employee Investment Program.


  • In partnership with product and distribution teams, create the futurestate plan andbuild the client servicing capabilities required to deliver an outstanding client experience to intermediaries, advisors and end-investors in our alternatives products

  • Support partners during product development stage, as needed, in building an operating model to support a superior client experience

  • Oversee and administer the onboarding processes for alternatives products in the US Wealth channel and the Employee Investment Program

  • Onboard end-investors and/or entities into alternatives strategies, including setting up advisors on FinTech platforms as necessary

  • Quarterback for subscription documents (as needed)

  • Liaison with Fund Admin / TA for initial capital call notices (including chasing down delinquencies)

  • Coordinate with intermediary contacts to agree on post-onboarding servicing elements to support the intermediary/platform experience

  • Ongoing servicing could include elements of oversight of the maintenance process (e.g., transfers, redemptions, distributions, statements, etc.) with an emphasis on identifying opportunities to enhance the client experience

  • Manage the onboarding process for Nuveen’s Employee Investment Program (EIP)

  • Oversee and administer all aspects of ongoing servicing and reporting for alternatives products in the US Wealth channel and the Employee Investment Program

  • Support platform level reporting needs (e.g., Commissions reporting for RIA)

  • Manage coordination for client access into FinTech portals (e.g., admin, access issues)

  • Oversee service commitments, log and escalate any issues, and proactively identify retention concerns working with distribution

  • Manage development requests with Transfer Agent, driving change efforts (e.g., changes needed to reporting or call notices)

  • Assess support needed to service growing business by modelling capacity needs to ensure sufficient coverage

  • Partner with Product on any modifications to existing product offerings to assess how best to communicate to client and understand servicing impacts (e.g., fee change, reporting platform modification)

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 8 years of combined experience in asset management client servicing, marketing, consultant relations, and/or distribution roles

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 24 licensed

  • Direct experience working with alternative strategies and product structures

  • Strong commercial orientation and experience working directly with large US Wealth intermediaries/platforms and their advisors in a sales, marketing or client servicing capacity

  • Excellent end-to-end generalist problem solving skills and ability to identify issues and implement solutions

  • Able to prioritize with a clear focus on results and execution – a self-starter able to lead a team independently and multi-task across various priorities

Technical Skills & Qualifications Required

• Experience in institutional client services

• Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Must be computer literate and able to work with bespoke systems (training will be provided as required)
