The Business Management job is responsible for providing day-to-day support for business strategy projects for the assigned functional business area. Under general supervision, this job supports strategic business management consulting by generating metrics and drafting reports to support business strategies. This job helps ensure that the assigned functional business area is optimized and cost effective.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Generates metrics and drafts and reviews reports in assigned functional business area to inform decisions on tactical issues that impact the business.
Implements policies and procedures in support of the business area strategy.
Executes process improvements in the assigned business area.
Analyzes and reports on area data (financial, headcount, etc.) and performance metrics.
Supports business management projects by documenting risks, issues and action items.
Participates in meeting planning in support of business projects and objectives.

As part of Nuveen’s global distribution efforts for Wealth and Institutional clients, we have created a dedicated team to focus on client and asset retention as well as implementing Client Experience business process changes. This team is responsible for developing the strategy for ongoing platform innovation as well as implementing business process changes across the end-to-end sales process to improve Nuveen’s client experience. We are currently seeking an entrepreneurial and execution-focused leader to join the Client Experience Implementation Team to act as a process optimization & workflow analyst.
In this cross-functional role you will lead analysis on complex processes & workflows for the Client Experience Implementation team. This will involve collaborating Client Experience Channel Leads to prioritize issues, building current state workflows & process maps, and partnering cross-functionally to evaluate pain points and design solutions. This work should include designing KPIs & success measures to support recommended changes, and over time, thoughtful application of learnings to other parts of the organization.
In collaboration with distribution, relationship management, client services, IT and marketing partners, lead execution of complex change initiatives:
Detailed mapping of current state processes, and analysis/development of KPIs (e.g., capacity/accuracy measures, time to complete)
Identifying points of friction and considering / designing potential solutions
Own / maintain process mapping to help build best practices across the organizations
Building presentations and documentation of proposed solutions that can drive engagement with stakeholders and support decision-making
- Minimum 2 years of Business Process Optimization, Management Consulting, Strategy, or Change Initiative experience
3+ years of Business Process Optimization, Management Consulting, Strategy, or Change Initiative experience
Six Sigma Certification
Financial Services or Asset Management industry experience
Ability to work cross functionally and manage multiple priorities within complex initiatives
‘Self-starter’, able to work independently while maintaining alignment with working teams & stakeholders
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong skills in Microsoft Suite; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio
Minimum Pay: $49,500.00
