The Senior Manager Communications Consultant (CC) will serve the marketing needs of strategic and core clients by developing and delivering strategic participant marketing programs around plan transitions and changes. The Senior Manager will build strong relationships with clients to gain an in-depth understanding of their needs and objectives with an eye toward delivering strategic solutions. They will also deliver standard solutions for sub-segment of client base.


  • Client-Facingduties: Meet with clients regularly, by phone or in-person, serving as primarymarketing representative for Institutional Relationships in developing andexecuting a strategic transition communications plan.

  • Activelyparticipate in the transition planning process as part of broader TIAAimplementation team, supporting institutional clients.

  • Analyze projectand client requirements and data to evaluate employee behaviors, develop andposition strategic campaign recommendations with institutional clients.

  • Develop andmaintain integrated strategic marketing plans, staying within prescribedcommunications offer and budgets, for assigned transition projects inconsideration of Corporate, Brand, Marketing, external client, andInstitutional Relationships segment goals.

  • Coordinate withothers across Marketing and the broader organization to oversee the developmentand implementation of multi-channel transition campaigns that achieve businessgoals (i.e., education; direct mail; web initiatives; digital communications).

  • Document andpresent best practices for broad utilization.

  • Demonstrate plansponsor and participant level tools.

  • Manage agency andother external vendor relationships. Manage expenses for projects and assignedbook of business. Help to ensure brand consistency throughout the organization.

  • Travelapproximately 15% of time



  • Bachelor’s Degreein marketing, communications, advertising or related field

  • 7+ years’experience in full lifecycle marketing development and on-going clientmanagement, preferably in Financial Services (or Retirement Marketing)

  • 3+ years’experience consulting with clients on retirement plans

  • 3+ years’experience marketing project management experience

  • 1+ years’experience managing agency relationships

  • 1+ years’experience working with marketing process automation/workflow tracking system

DesiredQualifications :

  • Knowledge of TIAAinvestment products and services

  • Familiarity andcomfort with process-driven tasks

  • Master’s degree
