TIAA Senior Cybersecurity Architect in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina

POSITION SUMMARY:

TIAA is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Architect for the Security Architecture team, reporting to the Manager of Security Architecture. The Senior Cybersecurity Architect will be responsible for serving as the touch point for Security with the firm’s overall Architecture group and security solution design services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Serve as a security architecture subject matterexpert (SME) for the firm

  • Champion new security solution initiatives forthe larger Security department

  • Sit on the Architecture Review Board to serve asSecurity’s voice in the governance of the System / Software Development Process(SDLC), as it relates to architectural elements

  • Develop security-specific enterprise referenceartifacts (e.g., patterns, blueprints, roadmaps, etc.)

  • Assist IT Risk with security consulting, asneeded, as it relates to the technology components involved in the assessment

  • Participate in the selection decisions ofsecurity tools for use by various security teams

  • Lead proof of concept efforts for the securityteams

  • Lead the design effort for security solutionsand champion them through the architectural portions of the SDLC process

  • Provide input into vision for the future ofsecurity solutions

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:

  • 6 or more years information technologyexperience

  • 3 or more years security/architecture experience

  • Experience working with Cloud technologies

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's (preferred) degree incomputer science, information technology, or related field

  • Knowledge of various platforms (e.g., Windows,Linux, etc.)

  • Prior consulting experience

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry

  • Knowledge of various architecture frameworks(e.g., TOGAF, etc.)

  • General information security certification(e.g., CISSP, CISM, etc.)

  • Technical information security certification(e.g., CCNP, MCSE, MCITP/MCTS, etc.)

  • Ability to communicate technical information inunderstandable business terms

  • Ability to work in a team environment, as wellas independently

  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communicationskills

  • Excellent documentation skills

  • Knowledge of modern enterprise and securityarchitectures, their challenges, common approaches to overcome theirchallenges, and their inherent security strengths and weaknesses

  • Knowledge of various platform security tools(e.g., AV, HIPS, firewalls, DLP, etc.)

  • Knowledge of various networking concepts anddevices (e.g., routing, switching, VLANs, etc.)

  • Knowledge of various network security tools(e.g., firewalls, NIPS, WIPS, VPN, DLP, etc.)

  • Knowledge of various databases (e.g., Oracle,MS-SQL, etc.)

  • Knowledge of various database security tools(e.g., activity monitoring, etc.)

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies (e.g.,mobile, cloud, etc.)
