POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for assisting with the preparation of audited financial statements for both the global asset management business, as well as subsidiary financial statements prepared for debt-holders. This position will also support consolidations, corporate accounting activities and the financial close process at various levels throughout Nuveen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Assist with the preparation of consolidated GAAP financial statements of the

global asset management business, including collection of disclosure data

from multiple asset management subsidiaries

• Assist with quarterly and annual GAAP financial statement processes for

subsidiary financial statements prepared for debt-holders

• Perform month-end close and consolidation activities

• Perform accounting activities in a variety of areas including investment

accounting, account reconciliations, cash accounting, intangible assets,

intercompany, and various accruals

• Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits conducted by external auditors

• Assist with reconciling, investigating and reviewing intercompany activity and

allocations

• Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards

• Perform Ad hoc analyses

• Support other groups within the controller’s organization

• Undertake and manage special projects and other reporting needs as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting

• 1+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting

or at a publicly-traded Company

• CPA or CPA candidate

Preferred Skills:

• Big 4 or large national accounting firm experience, preferably on publicly-

traded clients

• Experience with large financial accounting systems (PeopleSoft experience a

plus)

• Experience with consolidation software (Hyperion Financial Management

experience is a plus)

• Experience with financial reporting software (Workiva experience is a plus)

• Highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, have a positive work ethic

and be comfortable working in a fast paced, demanding environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to work as an

effective team player and ability to collaborate across functions and

businesses

• Preference for experience which required strong interpersonal skills and which

included a record of contributions and achievements that reflect sound

judgment, business knowledge, and leadership capabilities

• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities

• A commitment to a culture of excellence and client service

• A sense of urgency, results orientation and thoughtful execution skills

• Outstanding communication skills and a diplomatic interpersonal manner

• MBA a plus

• Experience with Microsoft Excel

• CPA
