TIAA Financial Consultant in CHARLESTON, West Virginia

The Institutional Solutions & Relationships- Financial Consultant (FC) is accountable for asset growth, asset retention, and provides counseling for all participants, new entrants, prospects, beneficiaries and their legal and financial representatives on the complete spectrum of TIAA products and services. This position is a professional level position with multi-pronged career path options after at least 18 months in role. The FC typically works normal business hours during the week. The role does require a balance of local travel and overnight travel (typically within the state). Evening meetings or traveling on the weekend might occur occasionally if client needs require additional commitment. It is expected this Financial Consultant will cover Institutions within West Virginia. The position can be located in Huntington or Morgantown.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAND DUTIES:
Provide a broad range of financial consulting/planningservices to our individual customers/participants at existing mega andlarge institutions and/or our k-12 new markets, ensuring asset retentionand growth.
Accountable for making TIAA the primary relationship(first call) for customers in need of distinctive advice, products andservices related to achieving their long-term financial goals.
Sale and delivery of all products and services,potentially including retail mutual funds, annuities, IRAs, 529 and 403b,bank products, life insurance and others.
Counsel participants on their pension plans, taxdeferred annuities and available investment options, educate, recommendand facilitate new purchases and provide authoritative information uponwhich important personal financial planning decisions are based.
Develop and maintain strong relationship withInstitutional Plan Sponsors
Conducts Financial Education Seminars
Participates in benefits fairs and leads planenrollment seminars in order to increase participation in TIAA productsand services
Interacts with participants and their representativesin-person (in the office and at the institution), by telephone, and bye-mail/written correspondence
Must comply with all regulatory requirements and remainin good standing with regulatory agencies
Strong emphasis on services, sales, customersatisfaction and retention objectives
3-6 years of client service or financial salesexperience
Travel & Valid U.S. Driver's License
FINRA Series 7 and 63 required at time application
State insurance licensing
Professional designation strongly desired: CLU,ChFC, etc.
Expert knowledge of financial planning concepts; includinga broad knowledge of TIAA products.
Must be highly organized and capable of proficientlyhandling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and sales skills, includingexperience presenting to large audiences
Agility in determining and managing priorities
