TIAA has an opportunity for an Associate Network Engineer to support our Infrastructure team. This is a great opportunity to learn network engineering. You will work alongside other engineers to receive “hands-on” networking experience and knowledge. The individual selected for this role will have accountability for daily operational duties to include fault management, incident management and ticket management.
This role will focus on the analyses, testing, troubleshooting and the evaluation of existing network systems such as local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems. This role will perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption. You will be exposed to security infrastructures, firewalls, proxies, RSA servers, DNS, DHCP and network access control (NAC).
This position can be located in our Chicago, IL, Charlotte, NC or Broomfield, CO office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Review customer requests for firewall and proxychanges
Collaborate with the offshore team on changeimplementation
Support evening and weekend change releases asneeded
Configure security settings or accesspermissions for groups or individuals
Analyze and report computer network securitybreaches or attempted breaches
Identify the causes of networking problems,using diagnostic testing software and equipment
Document network support activities
Perform troubleshooting to firewalls andrelated application issues
Ensure timely resolution of incident, changeand request tickets
Perform research and evaluate infrastructurestrategies, hardware/software, security and networking products
Set technical standards for networkinfrastructure, security baselines, policies and procedure
Monitor trends and recommend futurearchitecture strategies and roadmaps
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college oruniversity
Ability to support evening and weekend coveragewhen needed
Good customer services skills and the abilityto communicate to all levels of stakeholders
Two (2) years of networking experience
